Saturday Escape – Dismal Swamp Tour!

Say yes to New adventures

TOUR NAME: Saturday Escape – Dismal Swamp Tour!

DATE: Saturday, April 17th

DURATION (ROUND TRIP): 5 hours (10:00 – 3:00) Please arrive at 9:45 to board the bus

PRICE: $20 per person

DESCRIPTION: This is your chance to hop-on-board The Nature Bus and take a guided tour of The Great Dismal Swamp! We will be met by a historian with expertise about the area’s past days. What a treat. We will hear stories of this magical, majestic place, the history of the swamp, how it was created, the underground railroad, and the burn scars from the fires of 2008-2011. We will get off of the bus and walk in a number of different natural areas. We (may) see baby otters as this is the time they are being born. We (may) get lucky and get a glimpse of a black bear (however unlikely). Spring bird migration is happening so we may see many species of birds (binoculars provided by The Nature Bus in exchange for your driver’s license or bring your own bins). The group is asked to stay together with the guide at all times. We hope to be back to your parked cars at REI around 3:00 (traffic dependent).

COVID SAFETY MEASURES: We care about the health and safety of those participating in our nature experiences. The Nature Bus has been outfitted with dividers between rows of seats. The bus is sanitized between each tour. Your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to sanitize your hands before boarding. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or have a fever. Masks are required to be worn over both nose and mouth at all times when social distancing of 6 feet is not possible. We ride with all of the windows wide open for optimal air flow.
