Where are the pick-up locations?

Arrive 15 mins early so you won’t miss the bus; we depart from REI exactly at the time specified on the website/your ticket. We begin and end all of our trips at REI (350 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462). Then we proceed to the Oceanfront. Our first stop is (20 min after we depart from REI) at the Virginia Beach Visitor’s Center, 2100 Parks Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Next we drive slowly down Atlantic Avenue, beginning at the South end/5th street (30 min after we depart REI), heading North, ending at 56th street (The Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront) (50 min after we depart REI). This is our “regular route” however we do custom trips on Wednesdays and Sundays and our pickup and drop-off location can be as you request.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

We go rain or shine, so please dress for the weather! In heavy rain, we simply take cover and wait it out. In light rain, we offer umbrellas.

NO REFUNDS are issued due to weather. Tickets are not refundable unless we must cancel a trip due to severe weather conditions.

In the event of SEVERE WEATHER, we will contact you prior to the departure time. We may offer an alternative schedule of indoor activities/tours/site visits for that day which you may accept or decline. If you choose to decline you will be given the option to receive a refund, or transfer your ticket(s) to a later date.

If The Nature Bus cancels a trip for any reason, a full refund will be issued at no penalty.

I'd like to share a nature topic with others, but is my "topic" taken?

We are always in search of individuals who may enjoy sharing their knowledge and skills on a particular topic of nature with others. We need more than one person for the great variety of nature topics, so your area is not “taken.” Don’t be hesitant; Let us know you may be available! Fill out the collaboration proposal form. Email us at info@TheNatureBus.com

How can I register as an Individual for The Nature Bus?

Individuals: Take a look at our upcoming events page for our seasonal schedule. Individuals and small groups are welcome to sign up for any of these events. Reserve your seats now! There are only 16 seats available for each experience. Tickets can be purchased when boarding, but we cannot guarantee there will be seats available. We recommend purchasing online in advance.

How can I register my Group for a Nature Experience?

Groups: If you already have a group in mind, great! Please read through the descriptions on the Imagine the Possibilities Page. Then discuss these ideas with your group. Don’t feel beholden to just these ideas. Remember that we can customize a Nature Experience totally for your group! Once you’re ready, fill out the Interest Form and we will contact you about crafting your very own Experience with Nature! When all of the plans are set in place, we will post a REGISTER NOW private event for your group (under the Register Tab). Each person in your group will need to use the website to register him/herself, or you can designate one person to register the entire group. All registration and payment is taken care of through our secure online registration system. You may also email or text the owner, Suzanne Moss, with any questions/requests: info@thenaturebus.com / 757-288-9595 (text only)
