DROP-IN at Tinkergarten “Camp” (June 3-6)

We are super excited for you to join us! So happy you will “drop-in” for one or more classes!

The drop-in fee is $60/child/2 hour class. Meet us at First Landing State Park. 10am – 12:15. Be sure you BRING your printed ticket to class to show that you registered for the class.

SEE YOU AND YOUR EXPLORER AT TINKERGARTEN CLASS!

When registered, you and your explorer can meet us at our special class location! (no bus transport for drop-in registrations). From 2500 Shore Drive, turn onto Cypress Swamp Drive toward the forested side (NOT the beach side) of First Landing State Park. Go through the ranger’s ticketing kiosk. Pay entrance fee or show your annual park pass. Make an IMMEDIATE right turn as soon as you pass the kiosk (20 feet at most). You’ll see a large parking lot. Drive in a bit and look to your right. You’ll see us. “NATURE PLAY IN PROGRESS!”

Drop-in families, please READ carefully. All of the information below is for the full 4-day registrants. Please go ahead and read it so you will know the important details, such as what to bring, etc.

 

NATURE “CAMP” (ages 1-7 with adult): Tinkergarten Forest Class

The TINKERGARTEN national curriculum (Tinkergarten.com) is designed for ages 1-7. Older children take on leadership roles, and adore the little explorers. The littles look up to older explorers and follow their lead. It works. Beautifully.

Monday through Thursday (4 days), mornings 9:30 bus > 10 am – 12:15 class > 12:30 return by bus, at First Landing State Park for explorers 1 year old to 7 years old with an adult.  Siblings under 1 year old may attend for free.

Dates: JUNE Session (5 days) = Mon June 3, Tues, June 4, Wed June 5, Thurs June 6.

DESCRIPTION:

Depart each day from REI (Town Center) at 9:30 am and RIDE ON The Nature Bus to First Landing State Park for wonderful nature adventures! This family-friendly 4-day session is perfect for children and families who love the outdoors. COME PLAY OUTSIDE TOGETHER! Make some new nature-loving friends.

*A must see: Check out our reels on instagram! You will definitely want to join us. Don’t see the older explorers in the reels? Don’t worry. This camp is perfect for all explorers 1-7 years old. The camp curriculum is designed to interest all.

Ready to register your explorer? There are only 16 seats on the bus. Please TEXT the owner at 757-288-9595 to check if there is still a seat available. When they are filled, you can still drive your car and meet us at the class.

To thrive in this dynamic world, children need outdoor play experiences that deliver the hands-on lessons, valuable social interactions, and restorative activity that can’t be gained from the tap of a screen. As parents, it’s our job to ensure they engage in these experiences early and often. But how?

While finding ways to create enriching outdoor moments is essential, it isn’t always easy. Getting outside might be a simple first step, but for a lot of us, knowing what to do next—and how to make it count— just doesn’t come naturally.

Tinkergarten helps families get outside to make the most of their kids’ early learning years. Designed by education experts and loved by all families, our play-based outdoor curriculum guides parents in raising healthy, confident, and capable kids.

Price: $200 per child for the 4-day session + $25 Nature Craft supplies = $225/week; siblings under 1 year old may attend for free (birth certificate please); 10% discount for registered siblings (text/call owner/Suzanne 757-288-9595 for the promo code) We have exactly 16 seats on the bus. When the seats are full, you can still come to TG Camp. You can meet us there. There is an additional entrance fee to enter the park, unless you have an annual pass to First Landing State Park. Camp price is the same regardless of how you arrive at the park.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:
– Transportation on board The Nature Bus! (optional; you certainly may meet us at FLSP. Please be aware that there is an entrance fee when drive your own car into the park) Kiddos LOVE bus rides!
– an invitation to nature play with our 2.5-hour TINKERGARTEN nature lessons, nature craft, nature forest walk, and a picnic under the trees (bring your lunch).
– Smiles, fun, and all of the benefits of being in nature!
– excluding food/drink except Tinkergarten tea at the end of class 
– Expert pre-planning services with a trained Tinkergarten teacher!

THINGS TO BRING:
– Pack your own snack/lunch and drinks (they may be enjoyed at any time during class). We will also gather for “lunch time” under the trees at the end of class.
– Your “nest” to sit upon (waterproof picnic blanket)
– Water bottle, sunscreen, sunhat if it is a hot day
– insect repellant or a bug suit (as needed)
– Rain jacket  and rain boots (we play in light rain)
– Closed-toed/tennis shoes/boots (if could be muddy if it rained the day before); Tinkergarten children love to wear rain boots for JUMPING IN THE PUDDLES!
– hand sanitizer or wipes for hand-washing before eating 
– You can purchase Tinkergarten t-shirts, caps, tea cups, and more on the Tinkergarten website! Tinkergarten.com 

Important NOTES  “Know before you go” ~

*We have class “light rain” or shine. Please dress for the weather. In the case of rain, we simply take cover and wait it out. In the case of very heavy rain and wind, we will hold class under a large picnic shelter.
